Her cheeks started to heat, ears ringing, heart hot. It finally hit her. “You’re taking things too personally.” And it was true, all the pain she suppressed was beginning to leak, and anything out of line hit the right nerve to make her burst. She couldn’t contain the tears, and unlike the past, it didn’t matter how it would come out. She got up, walked to the bathroom, and looked in the mirror. ‘It’s okay’, she thought. ‘It’s time to let go, it’s time to let life in.’ And for the first time in a while, she actually did. “I’m sorry dad, I forgive you.”
