You told me to let you in, but I’m finding it hard to when my walls are so high I can’t reach around. I’m willing to give it a go, so I’ll start with my buttons. Brick by brick, you know it’s hard, I’ve built it up thick. I’m not trying to waste your time, but how do you expect me to look through your heart when I can’t even see mine.. You want the part of me that I refuse to give, desperately seeking it like it’s your means to live. Even though I mouth the words you need to hear, you’re too distracted by my lips, and you’re finding it hard to keep clear.
